Concrete Sensors
Concrete is a staple material in any construction project, but it is fickle to work with.  Realizing there was an opportunity to bridge the data gap in understanding how the material cures and dries, CS set about creating a network of sensors and a mobile application that gives more information to the structural engineer.  For the first time ever, we know what is happening inside of the concrete in real-time.
Streamlined For Workflow
The sensors that we created needed to be affixed to steel re-bar and embedded into concrete in order to obtain the intended data.  Our top priority was creating a product that would align with the concrete pouring workflow.  We included a zip-tie system that would allow each sensor to be readily attached to anything.  In conjunction, we created packaging that activated the devices when opened, ensuring it was always powered on when the concrete was poured.

This project was a collaboration with my great team at Bolt.
